After spending 2 years in Viet Nam and surviving Hurricane
Camille in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1969, Dennis Bella became
Brainchild's soundman in the early 1970s. His duties included
driving the equipment truck, maintaining equipment,
unloading/loading equipment at the gigs, preparing the stage,
and developing special effects with sound equipment salvaged
from various historic theaters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dennis was primarily responsible for building the band's then
state-of-the-art sound system, which they eventually named the
"Pittsburgh PA."
During his reign with Brainchild, Dennis met his future wife
Karen Yazbek. Married in 1973, they built their lives together
in Austintown, Ohio. The Bella family was completed with the
births of their two sons. Eric, born in 1976, is preparing to
graduate from college with a major in electrical engineering. In
1984 the Bella family welcomed the birth of their second son,
Aaron. Now eighteen years old, Aaron is a senior at Austintown
Fitch High School. The family built their dream house in 1990,
and yes, they live on "Easy Street" in Canfield, Ohio.
Briar Hill Blast Furnace and Ohio Contracting were some of
Dennis Bella's first employers after his days with Brainchild.
Eventually Dennis graduated with a degree in accounting in 1978
from Youngstown State University while working as an auditor
with the Mahoning County Commissioners Office. Following
graduation, he held accounting positions with Aadam's Appliance,
Omega Door Company and Goddard, Thomas and Company, CPA's. In
1984, Dennis obtained his Certified Public Accountants license
and membership in the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public
Accountants. In 1988, Bella joined the accounting firm of Burns,
O'Hare and Company, becoming a partner in 1989. In 1992, after
many years of hard work, Bella became the sole owner of Burns,
O'Hare and Bella, Inc. He recently moved into a new location in
Canfield, Ohio. In addition to his professional career, Dennis
enjoys yachting, jet-skiing, fishing and riding his ATV.
